What does the famous British secret agent and the CEO of crypto exchange Quadriga CX have in common?

Well, 145 million dollars ... Not what you expected right? But while for Pierce Brosnan this amount represented the initial budget of his 2002´s James Bond movie, for the executives of Quadriga CX and their consumers recalls a true natural disaster.
On January 31, this amount would transform on the value for the potential loss of 190 million cryptocurrencies stuck on the now deceased wallet of its CEO Mr. Cotten (Gerald Cotten), who took down to his tomb not just a smoquin, but the passwords needed to make use of all these crypto funds.

This scandal has put the blockchain technology into a new light, given that although it's useful for promoting accountability and transparency, it also seems to give green light for decisions without legal supervision.

For now, Quadriga CX executives and consumers can just dream that Mr. Cotten could have choosen to "die another day"... Or that at least he would remembered to write down the passwords in case the worst came to happen.
